Group Meal Assignments (October 2014)

Schedule of Meals with some explanation of responsibility.
Lead person (in BOLD) makes sure group is organized.

** Each family brings their own protein for Saturday dinner.

Kitchen has equipment, utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc.
There is NO need for disposable products.

There is a grill which Mike usually operates & cooks everyone's Saturday dinner protein. **
The ovens are not great so consider that in your meal planning.
Remember to prepare options for vegetarians.

Fri. Dinner Suggestions: pizza or chili, salad, DESSERT

General Information about MBSP group camp site

There is electricity in cabins (not great, very old!) & cell phone reception (SOMETIMES, DEPENDS).
Bathhouse has 4 sinks, 4 toilets & 3 showers with small “changing” area.
Dogs are welcome.

What you should bring ... mainly suggested Personal Supplies
Sleeping bag +/or sheets, pillow, towels
Portable chair for campfire, flashlight, bug spray
Toiletries
Clothes appropriate for season (warm days, cool nights), flip flops for shower, robe
Games, cards, musical instrument, crafts
Food/Drinks
  1. for your group assigned meal (make sure to coordinate with group members)
  2. “individual/family” bring own “meat/protein” for Saturday dinner
  3. additional favorite snacks (i.e. chips, popcorn, sodas)
Reusable drinking container for each family member
1 wash rag for cleaning dishes, 2 Towels for drying dishes & hands in bathhouse
Pot holders – if you have an old one, PLEASE bring them
Small fan – for white noise or ventilation (optional)

General Supplies coordinated by Mike & Tara
  • Spices, oil, aluminum foil, plastic wrap (Tara)
  • Drinking water, coffee, sugar (Mike)
  • Dish washing detergent, tissues (Tara)
  • Ice cream scoop, peeler, tape, can opener (Tara)
  • Compost containers, first aid kit, cutting boards (Tara)
  • Trash bags, paper towels (Mike)

Every family bring ONE roll of toilet paper
Liquid HAND soap for kitchen or bathhouse (4 bottles needed)

By 11:30a         Pack up stuff, exit camp site, & return to Nashville

Composting/Recycling at MBSP Campsite

There will be 2-3 GREEN compost containers available for food “waste.”
Please use them instead of increasing trash.

EXAMPLES:
Fruit - apple peel/core, banana peel, orange peel
Vegetables – cucumber peel, pepper seeds
Coffee grounds, filter
Paper towels
Egg shells
Bread
NO MEAT or its by-products (bones, gristle)

Recycle if possible.
There are containers for aluminum/tin & plastic items.
We will collect paper, cardboard & glass and take back to Nashville.
